Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026.

Mossfern Gate is a static, independent travel-planning guide. This policy explains plainly what we do and do not collect, because the honest answer is: very little.

What we collect

This site does not use accounts, does not process payments, and does not run third-party advertising or analytics trackers. Our web host's standard server logs (IP address, browser type, page requested, date/time) are generated automatically for security and technical operation, as with virtually any website.

Cookies and local storage

The Coast Clock tool may use your browser's local storage to remember your last-selected shore and date, purely to make the tool more convenient on your next visit. This information stays on your device and is never transmitted to us or any third party.

Third-party links

We link to official sources including Parks Canada, Fisheries and Oceans Canada, Environment Canada, and BC Ferries, and occasionally to tourism organizations and operators. Those sites have their own privacy practices, which this policy does not cover.

Children's privacy

This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time; the "last updated" date above will reflect any change.
